The 2024 CrossFit Open
Hey Lifters! I’m not sure if these entries get read much but regardless, Happy Friday! For those of you who participated in the 2024 CrossFit Open workouts – Congratulations! This is the first year since 2010 that I’ve missed completing the Open workouts due to travel and a cranky shoulder injury. Wah! I watched my fellow gym-mates perform 24.1 and 24.3, and let’s just say I think I’m ok with missing them; both looked brutal. One thing for sure though, the LiftCollar would have come in handy for 24.3.
Did you wear yours for those thrusters? Or did you end up with bruised or scraped up collarbones? Truly, the LiftCollar is something you wouldn’t have known you needed ‘till you walk away from a workout like 24.3 with red and scraped up collarbones. The LiftCollar protects your collarbones from repetitive banging from the barbell. It’s like wearing knee sleeves for protection during lunges, or grips during pull ups; there’s no need to rip or scrape unnecessarily. We’ve all been there – raspberries from sit-ups and ankle burns from rope climbs. These don’t only hurt, they take forever to heal, and sometimes impede with working out. Like my coach says, “Be smart. Listen to your body.” Protect yourself. Protect ya neck!
Good luck to those going on to Quarterfinals!
